My organ donor card has arrived in the post. I have no idea why I wasn’t already a registered donor, I’d just never really thought about it before. Now I have been thinking about it, to me, organ donation seems to be something people should have to opt out of, rather than the other way round.
For the last few months I’ve found that, if left to my own devices, I haven’t been able to concentrate on anything for long enough to actually get it done. No matter how much I want to achieve, within five minutes of starting I’ll completely lose concentration and my mind will wander to other, much less important activities like checking email or watching crap on YouTube.
The worst thing is I don’t exactly know why I do that, especially when there’s so much I’d love to learn and experience. All I know is that my list of to-dos seems so long that to even arrange it into some sort of practical order is starting to look like a colossal task in itself. Of course, the longer I sit and moan about it, etc, etc.
Anyway, despite that, you might have noticed I’ve made a few additions to the site footer in the shape of a Twitter box and my Flickr photostream feed. Next up: styling and turning on comments. I’ll be starting that next week, so expect it sometime in 2015.
I love playing the guitar, but most of the time I need all the help I can get when it comes to learning new songs. Tabs are quite good, although I sometimes find them quite difficult to follow. It doesn’t help that most of the tabs I find are seldom correct.
That’s why I love this man. He films himself teaching near perfect renditions of Radiohead songs and posts the videos on YouTube for lazy/tab-illiterate people like me to learn. They’re ideal for me because I pretty much only want to play Radiohead songs, and I’m always much better at learning something when it’s demonstrated to me a couple of hundred times.
After several weeks and what seemed like tonnes of holiday brochures, we finally booked our holiday today. At the end of September, Steph and I fly to Kenya for two weeks! We’re staying in a hotel on the coast for a couple of days, going on a 3 night safari in the Tsavo East & Tsavo West National Parks, then it’s back to the hotel for the rest of the holiday. I think it’s fair to say I haven’t been this excited in years.
I was a bit unhappy about being one of the only Web developers who didn’t have an up-to-date website, so… tah-dah! Welcome, friend(s). Have a look around if you want, although I’m afraid you won’t find much at the moment. Sorry for the lack of content right now but I’ll slowly start adding new stuff and a few bells and whistles here and there, just as soon as I decide exactly what I want to do with the site.
